WAB - World Association for Buiatrics- To propagate scientific and practical knowledge of the management and production of cattle, and the control of cattle diseases.The objective of the association is to improve the competitivity of the bovine practitioner in the field by contributing to a high standard level of basic veterinary education provided by competent scientists; specialising not only in bovine medicine but also in all aspects related to bovine production, i.e., nutrition, genetic, reproduction,biotechnology, etc...
WARF - Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation- Since its founding in 1925, WARF has served the University of Wisconsin-Madison scientific community by patenting the discoveries of UW-Madison researchers and licensing these technologies to leading companies in Wisconsin, the United States and worldwide. In this way, WARF also facilitates the use of UW-Madison research for the maximum benefit of society.
WAS - World Aquaculture Society- an international non-profit society with over 4,000 members in 94 countries. Founded in 1970, the primary focus of WAS is to improve communication and information exchange within the diverse global aquaculture community. The WAS has international chapters in the Asian Pacific region, Latin America, the US and Japan, as well as formal associations with many other aquaculture organizations around the world.
WAVE - World Association of Veterinary Educators- Today the World Veterinary Association has close cooperative contacts with large international organizations such as the International Office of Epizootics (OIE), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Close contacts and cooperation is necessary to protect and improve animal welfare, animal health and human health and the environment. To ensure implementation of the scientific discoveries and innovations the World Veterinary Congresses are still of major importance, the silver jubilee (25th) World Veterinary Congress 1995 in Yokohama, Japan becoming the latest in the long chain since Hamburg 1863.
WCVSA - Western Canadian Veterinary Students' Association- Objectives 1. To promote the development of characteristics desirable of the veterinary profession. 2. To instill in the veterinary student a strong sense of professional pride and dignity, and to make him/her aware of his/her obligations; socially, politically, culturally and professionally. 3. To stimulate interest in the professional organizations by encouraging active participation in the WCVSA and by making the students aware of the opportunities afforded by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the provincial veterinary associations. 4. To promote the interests and welfare of veterinary students with regard to their educational, social and athletic life. 5. To foster a close association with other student organizations and with professional associations.
WDA - Wildlife Disease Association- founded in 1951, the WDA has flourished as an international, nonprofit organization with more than 1300 members from 45 countries. WDA members are actively engaged in research, teaching, and service activities related to wildlife.
WFP - World Federation of Parasitologists- The World Federation of Parasitologists – founded in Warsaw, Poland, 1960, is a non-profit making association in the sense of Art. 60 of the Swiss Civil Code. The full members of The Federation consist of scientific organisations concerned with parasitism, mainly national Societies related to parasitology or tropical medicine.
Winn Feline Foundation- The Winn Feline Foundation was founded by the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) in 1968 to create a source of funding for medical studies to improve the health and welfare of cats. The foundation was named to honor CFA's longtime attorney and advisor, Robert. H. Winn.
WOS - Washington Ornithological Society- The Washington Ornithological Society was chartered in 1988 to increase knowledge of the birds of Washington and to enhance communication among all persons interested in those birds.

WSVMA - Washington State Veterinary Medical Association- Founded 103 years ago, WSU is home to the fifth oldest veterinary college in the U.S. and the sixth oldest in North America.  It is one of only 27, 4-year veterinary colleges in the U.S. and one of only two west of the Rocky Mountains. The college educates more than 500 students each year, including students in the 4-year DVM professional program, post-DVM interns and residents, M.S. and Ph.D. graduate students, and undergraduate students.
